About Avery Financial Services

Diana Avery is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional and founder of Avery Financial Services (AFS) and has been in the financial services industry since 1997. She spent her first 10 years on Wall Street breaking in with the firms Dean Witter Reynolds and Paine Webber. From Wall Street, Diana moved to Atlanta and had a successful career working in the 403(b) Education and Healthcare markets.

Client Centered

After starting AFS, Diana remained passionate and committed to a foundational approach to planning processes that pursue successful financial futures and retirements. Early on she identified a select group of clients with whom AFS was most philosophically aligned. This focus on “fit” continues to this day and allows Diana to provide process-based planning and solutions primarily to clients that are professionals between the ages of 45 and 55 who are engaged in their own journeys and serious about planning for a successful future. Additionally, Diana serves individuals looking to retire in 5 years or less.

Diana also serves as an Ambassador with The Financial Awareness Foundation, a 501©(3) dedicated to Improving Financial Literacy.  They provide educational Financial Planning workshops, seminars and webinars on How Money Works, Retirement Planning, Financial Planning for Millennials, etc. for those looking to expand their financial literacy and investment knowledge.

Diana graduated from Virginia Union University with a BS in Business Administration. She went on to receive her CFP® certification from the CFP Board in 2014. She is actively involved with her Alma Mater and is a member of the Association of African American Financial Advisors. Additionally, Diana works with HBCU’s to help provide more awareness around Financial Planning to the next generation.

Happily married to her wonderful husband, Mario, they are active members in their Church, World Changers Church International in College Park, GA. In her spare time, Diana enjoys gardening and learning how to prepare and cook healthy meals, entertaining guests who get to enjoy the new dishes.
